MISSION & HISTORY

Advanced Fluids Engineering Research Center, as one of the Centers of Excellence nominated by Korea Science and Engineering Foundation, is to contribute to the advancement of research and development in the field of fluids and thermal engineering through concentrated group research efforts and through training students to become creative researchers of the future.

RESEARCH FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT & BUDGET

POSTECH Subsonic Wind Tunnel (POSWIT)
The POSWIT is operated by the AFERC / Dept. of mechanical engineering of POSTECH.
The construction of the POSWIT was begun in 1993 and was inagurated in Nov. 1995.
The POSWIT provides the largest size of test section until now(Nov. 1996) and may remain as the largest wind tunnel among those running in the universities in Korea in the future.
The POSWIT is used not only for the research and education but also for industrial applications.
