We are interested in the theory and application of neural networks which are considered one of the key technologies for the next generation computer.
Neural networks are based on a principle of the human information processing and have successfully been applied to many areas such as pattern recognition, automatic control and time-series prediction.
In our lab, we have been working on the application of neural networks to pattern recognition problems. Our goal is to develop a shape recognition system which is as flexible and accurate as the human visual system.
Our long range goal is to develop a next generation computer which has the power of a human brain.
