Modern organic chemistry covers a broad range that spans from small organic and organometallic compounds to complex supramolecules including nanomaterials, DNA, and enzymes. Thus, the organic division of this department is actively investigating new synthetic methodologies, molecular recognition, and catalytic reactions. Representative research areas are design, synthesis, and property evaluation for new enzyme-inhibitors, biofunctional molecules, molecular receptors, enzymatic transformation systems, functional nanomaterials, and organometallic catalysts.
