How to Get to Postech

To get to POSTECH, Pohang, by train, you may take either the KTX or Saemaeul line. FYI, KTX runs between Seoul and Busan and stops at Daegu, from which you have to transfer to slower lines or an express bus from Daegu Dongbu Bus Terminal, 5 minute by taxi from the Daegu Station. On the Saemaeul line running from/to Seoul/Pohang, no need to transfer but it takes longer. From the Pohang Station, it takes about 15-20 minutes by taki to POSTECH, costing 5,000 won. From the Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal to POSTECH, it takes about 5-10 minutes by taxi costing 3,500 won.

There are four daily flights between Gimpo Airport in Seoul and Pohang Airport.  The airfare costs 62,000 won weekdays and 72,000 won for weekends, and it takes about 50 minutes. POSTECH is located about 30 minutes away from the Pohang Airport by taxi, costing about 10,000 won. It is convenient to take the university shuttle bus, which runs between the airport and the campus once or twice a day.  Please see below for information on air flight and shuttle bus schedules.

The Express Bus Terminal connects Pohang to other cities in Korea including Seoul, Daejun, Masan, and Kwangju. Under normal traffic conditions, it takes about 4 hours between Seoul and Pohang. The buses to Seoul run in every 30 to 40 minutes. There are two classes depending on the space available - the standard one (4 seat in a row w/ an aisle in the middle) and the deluxe one (3 seats in a row w/ an aisle). The standard costs 17,400 won, while the deluxe costs 25,800 won.  There also are nightlines starting from 10 pm running until 00:30.  It costs 28,400 won. At the Express Bus Terminal please take a taxi to get to POSTECH, it takes about 20 minutes costing 5,000 won.
