Introduction

His research interests include power electronics and computer network systems. Dr. Nam has done numerous industrial projects related to motor drives and power converter systems for past 10 years. He is a recipient of a 1992 Best Paper Award from KIEE and a 1993 Best Paper Award from KFAST. He served as a director of Postech Information Research Laoratories from 1988 to 2000. He received a Best Transaction Paper Award form IEEE Industial Electronics society in 2000. He manages two laboratories; CMD(Control and Motor Drive) Lab and ANT(Applied Networking Technology) Lab. In CMD Lab, he focuses on the development of compact inverter and convorter systems with the use of ASIC and various advanced control theories.  In ANT Lab, he is developing specialized ethernet switches having port traffic control capability over having a very long distance range.
