FOUNDING TENETS

Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) was founded with the main purpose of contributing to the nation and humanity by conducting advanced science and engineering research on a wide range of applications that are essential to the advancement of Korea and humanity, and to realize collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions to disseminate research outcomes to industries. An additional purpose is to train a select pool of talented students to become knowledgeable and wise global leaders by providing them with excellent education.
To fulfill these purpose, work at POSTECH focuses on advanced research in diverse fields of science and engineering by cooperating closely with world-leading universities; furthermore, it strives to develop as a global hub for research related to the materials sector.POSTECH has become a world-class university by providing excellent education to produce intellectuals who have integrity, creativity, and a pioneering spirit, and by expanding the scope of industry-academia collaboration to improve human welfare.
