Faculty Position at the Department of Electrical Engineering, POSTECH

The Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea is seeking outstanding applicants of all ranks to fill tenure-track faculty positions at the Department of Electrical Engineering. Applications are invited in all fields of Electrical Engineering with emphasis on (1) Emerging Electronic and Photonic Devices (Semiconductors, 2D Materials, and Organic/Bio Materials), (2) Computer Vision or Image Signal Processing, (3) Embedded System or Computer Architecture, and (4) Wireless Network or Communication Security. Candidates with strong commitments to research and teaching are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or in a related field, and have outstanding scholarly research experience and/or potential and teaching interests. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to develop an internationally recognized, externally-funded research program, and to contribute to the operation and promotion of the department, college, university, and profession through service. The expected position start date is March 2017.

Applicants should submit both soft copies (email) and hard copies (mail) of the following documents:

1) One-page summary of achievements (Use the template downloaded from http://ee.postech.ac.kr)

2) A comprehensive curriculum vita with, but not limited to, a photo, the list of publications and other significant scholarly activities, and contacting information of at least three professional references

3) Official certificates of degree and transcripts (both undergraduate and graduate degrees)

4) Copies of five major publications

5) A detailed statement of research interests and plans

6) Personal Information Collection and Usage Agreement form (Use the template downloadable from http://ee.postech.ac.kr)

7) At least three recommendation letters submitted to FSC directly from the recommenders.

Application packet (except recommendation letters)

The electronic files should include one-page summary of achievements (a doc or hwp file); and one zip file (compatible with Windows OS) for the rest of documents in the application packet except the recommendation letters.

Transcripts and degree certificates submitted by mail should be original official documents.

Both electronic files and hard copies of files in the application packet except recommendation letters must be submitted by October 7, 2016 (Friday).

Recommendation letters:

Email submission: Electronic copies of reference letters must be submitted by October 7, 2016 (Friday).

Mail submission: Original reference letters must be submitted by October 14, 2016 (Friday).

*Recommendation letters (both hard and soft copies) must be submitted directly by the recommenders.

Full consideration will be given to applications received by the deadlines. Candidates selected for the site interview will be notified individually. Applications submitted after the dates will be considered for the year-round recruitment program.
