(영)김영기 교수팀_뷰페이지Jun-Hyung Im, a Ph.D. candidate in POSTECH’s Department of Chemical Engineering under the supervision of Professor Young-Ki Kim, has received the Gold Award in the KIDS category at the 2024 International Meeting on Information Display (IMID), held this August in Jeju, Korea.
IMID, one of the world’s top three conferences in the field of information display, has been held annually since 2001. It serves as a global platform for sharing the latest advancements in display technology. The KIDS Award is given to six outstanding papers each year, selected from over 1,000 submissions (two Gold, two Silver, and two Bronze). The awards, sponsored by LG Display and Samsung Display, include cash prizes of KRW 4 million for Gold, KRW 2 million for Silver, and KRW 1 million for Bronze.
Jun-Hyung Im received the Gold Award for his research on perovskites, a promising material for next-generation displays. His study introduced a method to precisely control the growth and optoelectronic properties of perovskite crystals using liquid crystal solvents, a breakthrough expected to drive significant advancements in display technology. His research has garnered widespread attention from both industry and academia. (Paper: Regulating Crystallization of Optoelectronic Nanomaterials by Using Liquid Crystalline Template)
Jun-Hyung Im said “I am truly honored to receive such a prestigious award at an international conference,” “This recognition inspires me to continue pushing the boundaries of next-generation display technologies.”
IMID 2024 was co-hosted by the Korean Information Display Society (KIDS) and the U.S.-based Society for Information Display (SID), attracting more than 2,300 participants from 18 countries.
