Freshmen are required to live in the Residential College (RC), and some sophomores could also reside in the RC. Junior and senior undergraduate students, as well as graduate students, can apply for general dormitory housing.
  • There are a total of 22 buildings, including 17 dormitory buildings for male students, 3 for female students, an RC building, and a community center. The dormitories are comprised of single and double rooms, as shown below.

  • The dormitory buildings are 3 to 5 stories high, and each building includes a lounge, laundry room, communal shower room, and communal restroom. In the RC buildings and Building 20, there is a lounge on each floor, and individual rooms are equipped with a private shower room and restroom.
  • Building 16 is designated as the DICE (Dormitory for International Culture Exchange) building, primarily accommodating exchange students and international residents. However, Korean students may also apply for residence through the dormitory director’s announcement and interview process.

Eligibility for Residence

Enrolled students for the current semester can reside in dormitories.

However, special military service personnel (such as professional research personnel) are considered POSTECH students until they obtain their degree. Part-time students may also be admitted to the dormitory with the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies, limited to their period of enrollment.

  • According to school regulations, admission to the dormitory may be restricted in the following cases: if a student has received disciplinary action of suspension or higher, has exceeded the maximum period of dormitory use, has an infectious disease, or is deemed unsuitable for communal living by the dormitory director.
