Research Ethics

Every researcher must uphold the “Ethics to follow in conducting Desirable Research” to ensure Integrity throughout all stages of research conduct and manuscript preparation to prevent Research Misconduct or Improper Actions.
Committee on Research Integrity

The Committee on Research Integrity aims to prevent research misconduct by verifying and addressing reported cases to ensure the authenticity of research.

Reporting Research Misconduct

Research misconduct can be reported via documents (written statements), phone calls, or emails. If you wish to report anonymously, please send your statement or email to the following address. When submitting a report, please provide detailed information about the suspected misconduct.

Biosafety

Biosafety refers to activities to prevent infection in humans. POSTECH has physical devices, related rules, and security practices to prevent risk to the human body due to biological experiments or to prevent accidents when working with pathogenic organisms.
Institutional Biosafety Committee(IBC)

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) deliberates on biological risks and biosafety issues in research on the use of genetically modified organisms (LMOs) and human transmitted microorganisms, and strives to ensure biosafety within the research institute.

Animal experimental ethics

POSTECH has established an Animal Experiment Ethics Committee to ensure that experimental animals are treated ethically. The committee deliberates to determine whether experiments on animals are necessary, and if so, whether they minimize the animal’s suffering. The committee also checks and evaluates animal-testing facilities to ensure that experimental animals are treated huimanely.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(IACUC)

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee deliberates, guides, and supervises compliance with animal experiment ethics by deliberating in advance on experimental animal use in research conducted on campus.
